Epiphany lesson with the kids yesterday.

  • Me: In Mexico, the tradition has it that if you leave your shoes outside your door, the Three Wise Men will leave you presents just like they did for baby Jesus.
  • Arath: ...Then your present will smell like your shoe...
Permalink It’s Thursday, and that means I get to share my experiences with my second graders tonight. The show was stolen yet again by Nicole. For some reason or another, my students completely digressed from the lesson at hand and began to share their experiences with 8-year-old “love.” Nicole eagerly raised her hand and told us about a boyfriend she had in kindergarten - his name was Tyrese and he would kiss her while the teacher wasn’t looking. But when they advanced to first grade, Tyrese and his family moved to Texas and she never heard from him again. However, she still loves him.

During a small break she drew this on the whiteboard. Inside the heart, it says: “I miss they boy I kiss. Don’t think it is funny. By Nicole. I love him he is cute.”
